Coffee has been a culture that sticks to Australians for decades. In this article, I will cover the biggest City in Australia name Sydney. In Sydney itself, there are more than 300 cafes spread over the entire suburbs around New South Wales.
For coffee lover, Sydney could be a place to be. This city offers so many varieties of coffee according its origin. Not only the way the coffee brewed, but also the coffee roasted. There are so many roasters that come with their own superb roasters blend recipes. It is a must to visit the cafes once you’ve landed off in Sydney. From my own visiting experience that I made during my stay in Sydney, Here is my top 5 recommended Café:
#1 – Sly
So far, this café is my most favourite café. It is located in Surry hills, just behind of the biggest train station in Sydney, Central. It is a very unique café for me as I didn’t see any sign or any name of the café. It is just look like a house.
This café is armoured by Spirit Triplette, the Lamborghini of the coffee machine. I love the ambience; pretty classic, classic songs are played every time I go. Beans by roastworks & co. they serve cold drip for summer, they also serve their house blend and single origin. The single origin always changes every fortnightly. So, I always visit this café very often.
#2 – Gnome
Again, this café is located in Surry hills. In this suburb, you’ll find so many good reputable cafés. It is a good place to practice Australia’s coffee culture. Gnome, is one of the coffee that I love to visit too. I love the mini benny for my brekkie. This café is just renovated, it is now equipped with spirit duet. They serve the metropolis coffee which is roasted by their own and like always, single origin available. In here I mostly enjoy the food.
#3 – Brewtown
The new café is just newly open. It is aged not more than 1 year. In 2013, this café won the best café in Sydney version Sydney Morning herald. The best thing in here is the cronut. They have the best cronut in Sydney as they make it fresh daily. There are so many flavours of cronut available. Passionfruit, chocolate, original glaze, cinnamon are available if you fancy of cronut. They use the same metropolis house-blend coffee and they have single origin too. This café has many seats available. it is own by the same owner of Gnome.
#4 – Coffee Alchemy
Located in Marrickville, this café is well known with its god shot. They roast their own coffee in the back of the café. You definitely will get the freshest coffee always. I went there couple years ago. I found that place only serve coffee, no breakfast available. If you are looking for breakfast, this place is not a right place for you. However, it is great to put this café on the list as they served me awesome coffee.
#5 – Reuben Hills
One more top ten reputable café in Sydney which is located in Surry Hills! This place is really famous for its breakfast. The coffee is good too. I love the ambience and the staffs. This café is a good place to visit. They usually held barista championship for regional in here. It could be a good show for you as you may see many talented baristas. Like always, single origin is also available in here.
So, Those are top 5 of my list café. They are not too far from city, reachable by walk, easy to find with google map. Make sure you bump in to those 5 if you visit Sydney. Good luck for your bean hunting!
